Delta Lodge's charitable efforts are wide ranging, but during certain times of the year, we focus on one charitable effort. At this time, that effort is The Myositis Association. "Myositis" describes inflammation or swelling of the muscles, which occurs when the body's immune system is misdirected and attacks normal, healthy tissue. The underlying causes of the several forms of Myositis are not known and it is a rare disease that affects an estimated 1 in 50,000 people in the US.Braintree, the home town of Delta Lodge, is also home to two people afflicted with this disease. One of them, Dagmar Slaven, lost her fight with this disease earlier this year. She was present at last year's Walk in the Park, which will continue again on September 17, 2016 (click here for more information). We honor her as a friend of Delta Lodge by carrying on our support for this most worthwhile of causes. If you wish to add your support, please click the button below. All proceeds will be donated to The Myositis Association.
